Goldeneye resort to open spa complex for 2007
The Island Outpost Group is to open a luxury spa at Ian Flemingâs Goldeneye property in the village of Oracabessa in Jamaica - reports
Leisure Opportunities.
The spa will open in December 2007 and cover more than 26,000sq ft (2415sq m).
A private lagoon will be at the centre of the spa, surrounded by a relaxation area and 14 treatment rooms â seven wet and seven dry.
Additional features will include a shower jet, a fusion shower, a sauna, a hammam, a fitness area and a multi-functional swimming pool.
A range of treatments will be available, including up to 10 different massages and balneotherapy.
There will be approximately 30 new spa lagoon cottages built adjacent to the Thalgo seawater spa, which will be developed in conjunction with Thalgo Spa Management.
Designed by US-based Clodagh, the exteriors of the spa area will be created from stone and rough timbers to make it reminiscent of the old banana loading stations on the island.
Goldeneye already boasts a number of villas and also includes the original three-bedroom Fleming House â where Fleming wrote 17 of his famous James Bond stories.
Run by music industry mogul and the founder of Island Records, Chris Blackwell, other Jamaican properties within the Island Outpost portfolio include The Caves Hotel in Negrill and Strawberry Hill in Irish Town. Details: www.islandoutpost.com
