Roger Moore hits out at snobby use of `Sir` title

21-Feb-2006 • Actor News

Sir Roger Moore has hit out at fellow knighted actor Sir Ben Kingsley's insistence on being addressed by his full title at all times - reports ContactMusic.

Kingsley, who was knighted in 2001, recently announced there is "no Mr Ben Kingsley anymore". He also chastised a German reporter for addressing him as "Mr Kingsley", and is demanding his impressive monicker is printed on movie publicity material.

But the former James Bond star has branded this behaviour pretentious and pointless.

He says, "I think it's a load of pretentious bollocks. I don't see the point.

"Would it really add anything to have one's title included? I think it's the actor people want to see, not the knight."

Thanks to `NicNac` for the alert.
