Daniel Craig may play the devil in first post-Bond film

21-Apr-2006 • Actor News

According to THN, word is spreading through some of the crew that new 007 Daniel Craig has been talking about his first project after wrapping as Bond, and it appears he'll be playing Lucifer in the adaptation of Glenn Duncan's fantastic novel "I, Lucifer".

The source also states that Craig says his costar (playing Declan Gunn - a failed British author whose body Lucifer takes up temporary residence) is.... wait for it ...Ewan McGregor.

The book has been adapted by David Logan (CIRCUS), and Dan Harris and Mike Dougherty, who wrote "Superman Returns" and "X-Men 2". Harris will direct the film, which we understand will be largely shot in the UK. The project was developed by producers Richard Hewitt and Clark Westerman.

A band, 'The Real Tuesday Weld', who produced an unauthorized interpretation of the book before it was optioned, posted hints that the Declan role would likely go to Ewan on the IMDB a few months ago.

Thanks to `LicenceToKill` for the alert.
