Bond girl Michelle Yeoh `has no plans to marry`

27-Apr-2006 • Actor News

Former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh said she has no immediate plans to wed Ferrari racing boss Jean Todt and have children, Chinese newspapers reported Monday.

"We've talked about it. I've been married before. We'll stay together as long as we're happy. We don't necessarily have to get married. Marriage is a bonus. Being together is enough. I also like to be independent," Yeoh was quoted as saying at a horseracing event in Hong Kong Sunday in the Apple Daily newspaper.

Yeoh previously married and divorced Hong Kong tycoon Dickson Poon.

As for children, Yeoh reportedly said, "I have five godchildren, four nephews. I'm very fortunate to have my brother's children. I can't even take care of myself. Having children is a long-term commitment. I don't think this world is so great that I need to have many children."

Yeoh, whose credits include "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," and the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies," was most recently seen alongside Zhang Ziyi in "Memoirs of a Geisha."

Ming Pao Daily News reported she has finished filming director Danny Boyle's "Sunshine" in England but will return there for dubbing work. Boyle is best known for "Train spotting."
