Herbert Raditschnig, cameraman for two James Bond films, dies aged 72

10-May-2006 • Bond News

Herbert Raditschnig, an internationally renowned alpine cameraman who shot scenes for the James Bond films Goldeneye and For Your Eyes Only, has died, his family said Tuesday. He was 72.

Raditschnig died Saturday in his hometown of Salzburg of complications from a stroke he suffered a year ago, his family said in a statement - reports Canada East.

The Emmy-nominated Raditschnig, who pioneered film-making techniques in the harsh alpine regions of his native Austria, worked with Bond actors Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. He also shot the 1987 horror film The Outing and 1982's Five Days One Summer, which starred Sean Connery.
