Bond girl Barbara Bach breaks a leg in riding accident

28-Aug-2006 • Actor News

Former James Bond girl Barbara Bach is spending her 60th birthday in hospital after her horse kicked her and broke her leg - reports the BBC.

Bach, who starred in the 1977 Roger Moore outing "The Spy Who Loved Me", was admitted under her married name, Starkey, to the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford on Sunday morning.

A spokesman for the hospital said she had a fracture in her right leg following the riding accident near the couple's home in Cranleigh, Surrey.

Her husband Ringo Starr has been by her bedside in the hospital.

The spokesman added that the operation, which was carried out on Sunday afternoon, "went very well".

He said: "She had a stable and peaceful night and everything is going well with her recovery.

"Her condition will be assessed today but I don't think she will be discharged."
