David Walliams to present James Bond television tribute show in November

21-Sep-2006 • Media Alert

David Walliams is to front an hour-long ITV1 show about his passion for James Bond.

The comic, who will be defecting from Little Britain’s BBC home to make the programme, says he has been obsessed with 007 since he was six - reports Chortle.

And in My Life With James Bond, he will meet other celebrity fans, recall his favourite Bond moments and look at the stunts, the machines and the girls.

He said: ‘Ever since I saw The Spy Who Loved Me at the age of six, I have been obsessed.

'Unfortunately I have never been asked to play James Bond, but I have been asked to present this new documentary. I promise not to camp it up. Too much.’

The programme, which will air later this year, will be made by Unique Television with the full co-operation of Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.

Executive producer Michael Leggo said: ‘It will be sharing David's enthusiasm – and we think it will be blooming funny."

ITV has already secured the first TV rights to the latest Bond movie Casino Royale, due to be released in cinemas in November. It could be broadcast as early as the end of 2007.
