TND`s Jonathan Pryce awarded an honorary degree

13-Dec-2006 • Actor News

Stage and screen star Jonathan Pryce steps on to a different platform today to be awarded an honorary degree by Liverpool University.

The star of Evita, Pirates of the Caribbean and the James Bond blockbuster Tomorrow Never Dies will be joined at the University of Liverpool by his fellow honorary degree recipient, DNA fingerprinting pioneer and world-renowned geneticist Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys - reports icLiverpool.

It is especially fitting that Mr Pryce, 59, should receive the accolade because Liverpool was where his meteoric career began. He had drama training at Edge Hill College and his stage career blossomed at the city's Everyman Theatre.

The university's public orator, Professor Chris Gaskell, said: "Jonathan Pryce has excelled across a spectrum of acting that includes the stage, films and musicals.
