`Under The Mango Tree` singer Diana Coupland dies aged 74

20-Jan-2007 • Bond News

Actress Diana Coupland - best known as Sid James's wife in the 1970s sitcom Bless This House - left an estate worth nearly £700,000, reports the Mirror.

She died last November, aged 74, after failing to recover from heart surgery in University Hospital, Coventry.

Probate records show her estate, worth £677,033, was left in trust to her second husband Marc Miller and Shoshana Haynes, her daughter from her first marriage.

The actress, of Brailes near Banbury, Oxfordshire, starred as long-suffering mother-of-two Jean Abbott in the 65 episodes of Bless This House, which ran from 1971 to 1976.

She also played Maureen Carter in EastEnders in 2000 and appeared in TV dramas Doctors and Casualty.

Diana started her career as a big band singer and was the singing voice for Ursula Andress in the 1962 James Bond film Dr No.
