Sean Connery comes to the rescue of struggling Scottish football team
Sir Sean Connery has reportedly donated money to help a small cash-strapped Scottish football team.
Connery agreed to become a patron of Inverness Caledonian Thistle during a visit to the tiny club in Northern Scotland.
He is sponsoring a youth event run by the team to be dubbed "The 007-a-side" - and has also donated a signed rugby top to be sold for charity.
Club chairman Jim McCreath says, "Sir Sean has been busy with filming, but we hope he may be cheering us on from the terraces before the season is out.
"It is a tremendous feel-good factor for the club."
