MGM greenlight Thomas Crown Affair sequel for Pierce Brosnan
MGM Chairman and CEO Harry Sloan said in Boston this week that he has given the green light to The Thomas Crown Affair sequel with Pierce Brosnan again in the lead - reports
Coming Soon.
Sloan said "Pierce still looks good in a tux," not divulging many other details about The Topkapi Affair.
Back in January, Brosnan himself confirmed the film was about to go ahead: "Thomas Crown 2, for all intents and purposes, will happen. The script came in two days ago and it's good. We've announced it, we've said to the world that we're going to do it -- come hell or high water, we're going to do it. The bar is high on this one, the expectation is high on it."
Brosnan, who will produce, added that Rene Russo is not part of the sequel.
The follow-up is titled The Topkapi Affair and will draw on material from 1964's Topkapi, an MGM film, and the Eric Ambler novel which it was based on, called "The Light of the Day."
