Sir Sean Connery celebrated as supporter of women in Washington, USA

02-Apr-2007 • Actor News

Sean Connery was celebrated as a supporter of women in the arts at a special event in Washington.

The former James Bond attended an honorary evening at the National Museum of Women with his wife, Micheline Roquebrune.

The couple have long been patrons of the museum, giving millions of dollars to the centre to keep it financially viable.

It is known as the only museum in the world dedicated exclusively to recognising the contributions of women in the visual and performing arts.

The 76-year-old Scot promised to continue with his backing: "I will be thrilled and happy to come back here with my wife and see your next great leap."
