Daniel Craig drops out of `Blindness` project, confirmed for `Defiance`

21-May-2007 • Actor News

As expected, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Daniel Craig has dropped out of "Blindness" to persue other projects.

Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles is finalizing casting on "Blindness," meeting with actors to take on the lead role of a doctor who is the only man who can see in a village where everyone else is suddenly struck blind. Daniel Craig was in talks to take the role but is no longer attached.

MI6 reported earlier this week that Craig has signed up to play the lead in "Defiance", a true story about the Polish Resistance during the Second World War.
