26-Feb-2003 • Bond News

Yahoo News are reporting that Julianne Moore is in final negotiations to star opposite Pierce Brosnan in the romantic comedy "Laws of Attraction," which Michael Caton-Jones will direct for Intermedia Films and Stratus Film Co.

The project is to begin shooting in mid-July on location in Ireland and New York, with Deep River Prods. and Irish DreamTime also producing.

The project is about two top divorce lawyers (Moore and Brosnan) who face off in and out of court. Aline Brosh McKenna and Robert Harling wrote the screenplay.

Intermedia and Stratus are financing the project, which will be budgeted in the mid-$30 million range. Deep River Prods.` David Friendly, who originated the idea for the project, will produce "Laws" with his partner Marc Turtletaub along with Beau St. Clair, Brosnan`s producing partner in their Irish DreamTime.

No domestic distributor is yet on board.

Moore is nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for her performance in "The Hours" and a best actress Oscar for "Far From Heaven."
