UK TV - `From Russia With Love` to make BBC TV debut next weekend

For the first time in its history, the 1963 James Bond film "From Russia With Love" will be broadcast on BBC Television.

Previously, the film had only been shown by ITV on terrestrial TV and made its debut on the channel on 2nd May 1976. The commercial-free screening on ITV's rival network forms part of the Summer of British Film on BBC 2.

Super-spy James Bond finds his life under threat when he aids a beautiful Russian girl who wants to defect to the West with a politically invaluable cipher machine. It soon becomes apparent that the girl is merely being used as a pawn by SPECTRE, a group of international criminals intent on finishing off 007 once and for all - wherever in the world he may flee.
