Richard `Jaws` Kiel pens new book on Cassius Clay

02-Nov-2007 • Actor News

Richard Kiel, best-known for his role as the James Bond villain Jaws, has co-authored a book about American abolitionist Cassius Marcellus Clay - reports UPI.

Fifty percent of the royalties from "The True Story of Cassius Clay: Kentucky Lion," which Kiel co-wrote with Pamela Wallace, will go to a scholarship fund that allows qualified, but financially disadvantaged, students, black or white, to attend Berea College, the university Clay helped establish.

"Reading 'Kentucky Lion' will cause people to think differently about the South, its people, and how slavery affected everyone," Kiel said in a statement. "Cassius Clay is a forgotten hero, and I am pleased to tell his story in a way that will capture readers' attention and imaginations."
