Pierce Brosnan thriller `Butterfly on a Wheel` goes straight to DVD as `Shattered`

15-Nov-2007 • Actor News

Ever wondered what happened to the indie thriller "Butterfly on a Wheel" starring Pierce Brosnan as a kidnapper who pulls a family apart?

Filming started in March 2006 in Vancouver (Canada) and Chicago, and the casting was rounded out with "300" star Gerard Butler and Maria Bello.

Icon Entertainment Intl snapped up the worldwide distribution rights... but didn't distribute it. The film never made it to the multiplex.

Instead, Brosnan's post-Matador outing - which did have positive buzz during production and scooped some good reviews - was dumped on the cable channel TNT in the USA.

The film has now been renamed "Shattered" and is coming to DVD on 25th December 2007. Click here to pre-order from Amazon.com

The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 Surround tracks. Extras will include an audio commentary with director Mike Barker and writer William Morrissey, deleted and alternate scenes, a Hero to Villain featurette, and a Breaking Apart the Wheel featurette.
