Sir Sean Connery collects his strangest looking award ever in the Bahamas (photos)

11-Dec-2007 • Actor News

He's won every prestigious acting accolade possible, but Sir Sean Connery seemed incredibly surprised when presented with his latest award - a giant wooden statue.

The formidable actor, who is known for his ice-cool demeanour, appeared slightly puzzled, and then amused, by the prize at the 4th Annual Bahamas International Film Festival in Nassau, Bahamas - reports ThisIsLondon.

The 77-year-old legend was receiving an honorary award for his extraordinary career which includes being the first actor to play James Bond back 1962.

After picking up the prize, which required a firm grip of both hands, Connery chatted amiably to the other Hollywood star in attendance, Daryl Hannah.

He was possibly asking for her advice about whether to place his latest gong on the mantelpiece to join his knighthood, the Oscar he won in 1987, his two Baftas and three Golden Globes.

Meanwhile the Kill Bill actress was also receiving an award of her own for Career Achievement.

And while her accolade was more manageable to hold, it was equally as strange as Connery's - an ornamental fish.

Thanks to `overkill` for the alert.
