Pierce Brosnan to hit the slopes for charity in January

20-Dec-2007 • Actor News

Lt. Frank Drebin and Agent 007 will be part of the celebrity crew patrolling the ski hills come this January.

Pierce Brosnan, the fifth James Bond, and Regina-born Naked Gun star Leslie Nielsen (Drebin) are two of the Hollywood stars announced to attend Robert Kennedy Jr's Waterkeeper Alliance held in Banff next month - reports Jam.

Numerous well-known movie stars will ski the slopes at Sunshine Village, and stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel from Jan. 17 to the 20 for the Fairmont Banff Springs Celebrity Sports Invitational.

The annual fundraiser began in 1987 and has raised millions of dollars for the Waterkeeper Alliance -- an organization founded by Kennedy that aims to protect North American waterways, -- since then.

If Nielsen and Brosnan run into any trouble on the slopes, they can call on assassin Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah's character in thriller Kill Bill). Hannah will also attend the charity event, as will famous Hollywood faces such as Jason Priestley (Beverly Hills 90210), Josie Bissett (Melrose Place) and Kelsey Grammer (Back to You).

Tim Robbins, Christie Brinkley and Alec Baldwin are also to show up at the ski weekend in Banff.

The stars will take in a concert by musical guest Michael McDonald, dine at a gala dinner, and attend a high priced auction in benefit of the charity.

Tickets for the gala are available to the public at $500 per person through the Fairmont Banff Springs by calling (403) 760-1400.
