As they stood singing protest songs adapted from Christmas carols they were unexpectedly joined by Sir Roger Moore, who starred in seven James Bond movies including Live And Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me.
Sir Roger stayed for 10 minutes to chat with the workers and joined in a song adapted from Oh Christmas Tree.
Lydia Hayes of union Unite said: "One of our stewards went to speak to him and explained that we were there because Cadbury's was shutting the factory at Keynsham.
"He was very supportive and said his father had always enjoyed Cadbury's chocolate when he was young.
"There were people looking out of the windows of the head office - there was no doubt they knew we were there."
The protesters were led in their singing by Reverend Harold Clarke, performing songs adapted to show their anger at Cadbury's decision to halve its UK workforce and relocate to Poland.
