Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson receive OBEs for `services to the film industry`
James Bond movie producer Barbara Broccoli has
received an OBE for services to the film industry - reports
The Press & Journal.
Broccoli is the daughter of legendary filmmaker Albert R Broccoli (known as Cubby) who produced a string of James Bond movies.
She has followed in her father's footsteps and produced five 007 films including the most recent - Casino Royale - starring new Bond Daniel Craig.
She's also produced a number of Bond movies with half-brother Michael Wilson, who also received an OBE from the Queen for services to the film industry.
Speaking about her father, who died in 1996 and also received an OBE, she said: "He was awarded one 20-plus years ago so it's very emotional for me, particularly getting one after he got one."
Talking about the encouragement she received from Cubby, she added: "I think he led by example, both Michael and I followed his example; he was a great believer in sharing his knowledge."
The producer was in Panama yesterday where filming has begun on Quantum Of Solace, the latest instalment of the secret agent films.
The producer - who received her OBE from the Queen - said: "It's going extremely well and there's lots of stunt work and lots of action."
