Spooks actor still waiting for his licence to kill

14-Jul-2008 • Actor News

There is nothing more infra dig than an actor making it all too obvious that he covets a part, particularly when his chances seem slim to say the least - reports The Telegraph.

"I still want to be James Bond," Rupert Penry-Jones of Spooks fame tells the latest Radio Times.

The actor who is the present face of the beleaguered retailer Austin Reed does, however, concede that there is an obstacle to his ambition. "It depends on how long Daniel Craig continues."

Penry-Jones is reportedly leaving the hit UK show "Spooks" (retitled "MI5" in North America) after five years as spy Adam Carter. The 37-year-old has apparently said he wants to leave the BBC1 series on high - and is in talks about a thrilling exit storyline, to air in October this year.
