Secret agent 007 got a licence to chill when actor Pierce Brosnan bought a glass water-pipe. The 50-year-old star spent more than an hour looking round a dimly-lit smoke shop before choosing one for $1,000, about £630.
Buying a water-pipe, known as a bong or hookah, is legal. But they are often associated with smoking cannabis. Brosnan chatted and joked with the burly sales assistant at Dementia smoke shop in Malibu, California, before choosing a pipe by renowned designer Marcel.
Other customers did not seem to recognise the James Bond star, who wore a beige trench coat.
One said: "He spent ages talking to the guy behind the counter. He went from the smallest pipes to the really expensive ones. He didn`t seem bothered to be seen in there."
