Sir Roger Moore`s first autobiography manuscript was stolen

Roger Moore's first attempt at writing his life story was hampered when thieves stole his original manuscript - reperots Contact Music.

The star revealed that he began penning the memoir years ago but stopped after the incident. He has since decided to return to the project after being persuaded by wife Kristina and daughter Deborah.

He is quoted as saying: "I was pushed by my wife, my daughter - and Michael Caine a few years ago had done his [autobiography].

"I did try years ago and then lost the manuscript - well, it was stolen. It was on a disc in my bag, stolen at the airport at Geneva. I'd got about 14,000, 15,000 words. It quite put me off."
