AFI `top 100 heroes and villains` countdown on US television - four Bond series characters nominated
The American Film Institute (AFI)`s latest `Top 100` countdown, "100 Heroes and Villains" will air on US television tonight.
The chart is part of AFI`s on-going celebration of 100 years of American movies and will countdown America`s 50 greatest heroes and 50 greatest villains in film, as chosen by experts of the motion picture community.
A jury was asked to choose the 50 heroes and 50 villains from an extensive list of the 400 characters first nominated.
Four characters from the world of 007 who were nominated and could make the final top 100 are:
James Bond (Sean Connery)
Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Donald Pleasence)
Auric Goldfinger (Gert Frobe)
Jaws (Richard Kiel)
The three-hour television event on the CBS Television Network on June 3rd 2003 at 8:00pm.
