Movie fans select ultimate hybrid James Bond film

28-Oct-2008 • Bond News

The ultimate James Bond film would star Sir Sean Connery — with Ursula Andress in the passenger seat of his Aston Martin DB5, according to film fans.

He would take on metal-toothed villain Jaws and Golden-Eye’s Xenia Onatopp, in a plot that mirrors Casino Royale - reports The Sun.

The superspy would fly off on a jetpack to the music of Paul McCartney and Wings’ 1972 hit Live And Let Die. And the film would include the famous one-liner from Moonraker, when Q says “I think he’s attempting re- entry” as Roger Moore’s Bond is kissing Dr Holly Goodhead, played by Lois Chiles.

More than 25,000 Bond fans were quizzed on their perfect movie in two separate polls to mark Friday’s release of new 007 tale Quantum Of Solace.

Despite rave reviews for current star Daniel Craig, Connery, 78 — the original Bond — was firm favourite. He won nearly half of votes, beating Craig, 40, into second place with a quarter.

Jaws — played by Richard Kiel in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker — was most memorable baddie, winning a third of votes.

Ursula Andress, 72, was sexiest Bond girl of all 21 films — 46 years after her Dr No character Honey Rider emerged from the sea in a white bikini. Honor Blackman in Goldfinger had the best name — Pussy Galore — and Famke Janssen was fave femme fatale as Xenia Onatopp, thanks to her fight with Pierce Brosnan.

Daniel Craig’s tussle with baddie Mollaka in the opening of Casino Royale was best fight, while Roger Moore’s ski chase and parachute jump in The Spy Who Loved Me was top stunt.

The votes were cast by 23,000 film fans in a poll by MSN Movies, and 2,500 in a survey by online rental firm LoveFilm.
