Bond, Dr. Bond... Pierce Brosnan has received an honourary doctorate from the Dublin Institute of Technology (photos)

26-Jun-2003 • Actor News

Showbiz Ireland have reported that Pierce Brosnan had an honorary Doctorate bestowed on him by the Dublin Institute of Technology on Monday, 23rd June 2003.

Cheeky characters Eddie Jordan and Pierce Brosnan were as thick as thieves as they were both given honorary doctorates by DIT at a sunny ceremony in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. The Dublin College bestowed the honors on the two prominent Irish figures in recognition of their talents in their respective fields, and their entrepreneurial and humanitarian achievements.

In Brosnan`s citation Ms. Mary Cryan said: "A star of stage and screen, an artist, businessman, humanitarian, ambassador of Ireland, father and grandfather; Pierce Brosnan`s multifaceted persona is as varied as the many film characters he has played."

Brosnan and Jordan seemed extremely proud to be presented with their doctorates, both bringing their mothers, extended family and friends to the ceremony.

Pierce said before the ceremony: "I`m truly honoured. It`s the last thing I expected at this time of my life."

Thanks to MBE for the intel.
