Sir Roger Moore on being a star fibber

23-Apr-2009 • Actor News

He may be 81 and the author of an autobiography, My Word Is My Bond, but Sir Roger Moore admits he has no intention of kicking his lifelong habit of fibbing in interviews - reports the Daily Express.

“I’m Walter Mitty-ish,” he admits. “I’ve lied all my life. The trouble is you have to remember what you’ve said.”

However, the former Bond star has no regrets about refusing to dish the dirt, real or fabricated, about his three ex wives Doorn van Steyn, Dorothy Squires and Luisa Mattioli.

“Why would I say bad things?” Roger, currently married to Swedish-born Kristina Tholstrup, asks the Radio Times.

“They were lovely ladies who had bad taste in men.

“I’ve been exceedingly lucky. I behaved badly to a lot of wonderful people, often intentionally, and I apologise.”
