Sir Sean bristled by the red menace, and it wasn`t SPECTRE this time

05-Oct-2003 • Actor News

007`s disdain for the Red Menace has not waned since he got entangled with SPECTRE, according to Tony Curran. The actor was regaling guests at a wedding in Glasgow at the weekend how he had made Sir Sean Connery bristle.

During filming of "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" in Gozo, Tony was loafing around on set with Jason Fleming, while Sir Sean was sweating through a scene. When he was finished, he marched over: "What are you guys up to?" the great man asked. "Why are you not working?"

"We`ve been busy ... playing a bit of tennis and football and also swimming."

Sir Sean was not impressed. To wind him up even more, the boys leaned back as if enjoying a good cigar.

"Well, you know what," a miffed Sir Sean muttered, "when I wake up tomorrow morning I still won`t have ginger hair." No answer to that.
