Peter Morgan talks Bond 23 again and his departure from the film

12-Oct-2011 • Skyfall

In a recent interview screenwriter Peter Morgan revealed that he was looking for a new challenge and that he has his sights set on writing a big-budget, commercial heist film. At the same time as revealing this change in direction, Morgan told bloggers at The Playlist about his brief tenure on Bond 23. As MI6 previously reported, Morgan reiterates that he believes one key element is still in the plot but this time elaborates on why he departed the production:

"I wrote a treatment for [Bond 23],” the writer said. "And I believe, I haven't read the final script, but I believe the core idea of the final script is that. But what then happened was the whole MGM bankruptcy thing happened. And by [the time it was sorted], I was completely snowed under with other stuff, and Sam had a good relationship with John Logan, and I said 'Look, I can't do anything with it.' It's sad, but what can you do?"
