Press reports scheduling problems with Craig and Malek

11-Jun-2019 • No Time To Die

Daniel Craig's unexpected time off production due to the ankle injury he sustained at the end of the Jamaica location work has caused scheduling problems with the film, according to The Sun.

The paper reports that Craig is not able to shoot opposite Rami Malek now that he has to take a couple of weeks of for recovery. It is understood that Malek's schedule to work on the film was already tight due to other commitments.

A source said: "Filming was supposed to finish in September but the cast and crew have been told it’s been pushed back to late October, possible early November due to Daniel’s injury and the set explosion. But they still need to find a time for Daniel and Rami to film together. You can’t have a Bond film where 007 doesn’t come face to face with the villain so it’s a complete nightmare logistically. They are looking at the whole schedule again now and doing everything they can to make it work, but production is going to have to over-run even further now.”

MI6 note: It was expected that Bond 25 filming continue into November before the production suffered any setbacks, so the report's timeline is a little suspect.
